As we are approaching AxCMS.net 9.2 release, I would like to share with you some information about the new features. 9.2 has no revolutionary change in the GUI – this part we left for AxCMS.net 10 – but we did a lot of homework and improved a lof ot things. Here is a selection:

For Editors:

·         Copy elements between placeholders. Source / Mouse over / Copy, Target / Mouse over / Paste. Easy. Better as Drag’n’Drop!

·         Favicon can be attached to a Site (and appears automatically in browser).

·         You can see the checked out elements at one glance.

·         Adding an Image you can select an Image Format to be used (unless there is one defined for the placeholder).

·         Adding an Image you can select a CSS-style to be applied (from the options defined in CmsSite.xml).

·         Click on some text in the text editor and see the style currently applied to it highlighted in the ribbon toolbar.

·         If there is an error during publishing, you see now more detailed information about the reason.

For Developers:

·         Content classes are now overrideable (AxLabel, AxImage, AxFlashControl, AxStructureElement). You can inherit the classes, add an attribute and override/add some behaviour – exactly as you get used to with AxPage/AxDocument. Some overrideable events include OnSave(), OnDelete(), OnUpdate(), OnCheckIn() and OnCheckOut() – and of course also applicable for AxPage/AxDocument.

·         A MetaTag-Control out-of-the box which renders the meta-tags information of the page/site automatically, incl. Title, Meta, Favicon. You just need to add it to your template. Or you can inherit from it and override the standard logic.

·         It is possible to use Macros in a Subject of the Newsletter / MailTemplates.

·         ImageFormats can be marked as “generate automatically”. All such ImageFormats are automatically applied to an Image and are available to immediate use in LS.

·         Active Directory integration is improved.
